The construction Ministry of Russia will assist the police in combating crime in housing and construction

The Ministry of construction and housing utilities of the Russian Federation held a meeting on the issue of assistance to law enforcement agencies in the relevant expertise in the field of construction and housing. The meeting took place on 4th of October under the chairmanship of the First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of construction of Russia Leonid Stavitskiy, with the participation of representatives of law enforcement bodies and the Ministry's subordinate organizations.

"The Prosecutor General's office recommended that the Ministry of construction to attract subordinate organizations to assist the police. The problem, as in our daily work, unfortunately, have to deal with crime in housing and construction. We are going to develop a mechanism of effective interaction of our departments, it is necessary to formalize the process," - said in his welcoming remarks Leonid Stavitskiy.

Representatives of the Prosecutor General, interior Ministry, Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation said that the experts on this direction is not enough, in some regions not at all. At the moment the average waiting time in the queue for examination of completed projects in the field of housing and construction takes from a year to a year and a half. This significantly slows down the process of investigation and violates the interests of the injured party. Thus it is necessary to develop a new mechanism of carrying out these works.

Present at the meeting, Deputy Minister of construction and housing utilities of the Russian Federation Elena Sierra was asked to consider that the problem of reducing the length of the examination cannot always be resolved, as conducting complex examinations particularly of large objects requires a huge amount of work and thus time-consuming. The Deputy Minister suggested the option of creating a staff on the basis of the Ministry of construction of Russia or one of the subordinate institutions of the Ministry, which would in conducting such examinations, to distribute work on the basis of certain contractual grounds.
