The basis of the project will be the winning concept of the International Festival “Eco-Bereg”, which started on October 4 in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The Government of the Republic of Tatarstan intends to implement the project of a new Volga embankment in Kazan from the river port to the Kirov dam by 2020, coinciding with the 100th anniversary of the TASSR. This was announced today at a press conference at the IA Tatar-inform by the Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladimir Kudryashev.
“When the work begins, it’s premature to speak now. First, on the basis of the concept, a project should be prepared, it should undergo an expert examination, including an environmental one ... We would like it to be implemented by summer - autumn 2020, when we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the TASSR, ”- explained Kudryashev.
The basis for the future improvement project at the present time will be the concept that won the competitive selection of the Eighth International Architectural Festival Eco-Bereg. The event, which takes place year after year in different cities of Russia, this year hosted by Kazan. Today, at the end of the first day of the festival, an expert jury will announce the names of the winners, whose main task was to propose an idea for updating the pedestrian connections of the Volga embankment and the historical center of Kazan.
