International Standard ISO 6707-1 will be published in two languages: English and Russian in 2020
The plenary meeting of the subcommittee of the International Technical Committee ISO / TC59 "Buildings and Structures" held in Beijing (China), chaired by the Russian Federation, adopted a resolution on the start of work on the revision of ISO 6707-1: 2017 "Buildings and Structures - Vocabulary - Part 1 : Basic terms" and the addition of its Russian version. To date, the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation is implementing an initiative to supplement the ISO international standards in the field of construction with the official Russian language, which later will allow harmonizing international standards with the provisions of domestic regulations in the process of their development and revision of ISO standards. At a meeting in Beijing with the participation of experts from the UK, Norway, Canada, Japan, China, Lebanon and South Africa, it was decided that the ISO 6707-1 standard will be published on October 24, 2020. The essential difference between its new edition will be the addition of the English version of the standard to the Russian version, as well as the terms and definitions of the original version of the standard will also be updated. Remind that the Russian language, both English and French are the official languages of ISO - the International Organization for Standardization.
