Kazan Kremlin takes all-Russian festival "Architectural Heritage"

22 May 2019, Wednesday

From 22nd to 24th of May expositions, contests, lectures and master classes can be freely visited by everyone from professionals to children. Today the second all-Russian festival with international participation “Architectural Heritage” starts in the Kazan Kremlin. As Nikolai Shumakov, President of the Russian Union of Architects, who initiated the first such festival last year under the walls of the Moscow Kremlin in the Manezh, recalled, Kazan “knows how to preserve the architectural heritage and is able to restore it”, therefore Kazan was chosen for the event this year. During the festival, several contests of various projects and examples of the work of the regions of Russia with historical and architectural monuments will take place. On 24th of May following the results of the competitions, a grand prix statuette in the form of a tree will be presented, as well as gold, silver and bronze diplomas.

Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Public Utilities of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladimir Kudryashev drew attention to the fact that one of the blocks of the festival program will be devoted to the theme of spiritual and moral education of the younger generation. “A whole series of architectural and design master classes for children aged from 5 to 16 years will be held on the site of the Republic of Tatarstan. The new generation will also be able to get acquainted with the history and culture of the ancient Bulgarians. For them, the desktop-historical game "On a visit to the Bulgarian Khan" will be offered. And a lot of interesting and useful information. We invite everyone to visit the Festival and our stand of the Republic of Tatarstan ”. The Deputy Minister also noted the semantic feature of the exhibition space and the stand of the republic. “It is not by chance that the semantic feature of our stand and our exposition space is the link between past, present and future. The past is our architectural heritage, where the future is definitely our children, the younger generation.”
