Head of the Ministry of Regional Development of Russia Igor Slyunyaev met with President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The meeting was attended by Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Irek Faizullin and Minister of Information and Communications of the Republic of Tatarstan Roman Shaikhutdinov.
The issues of the participation of the Republic in federal programs coordinated by the Ministry of Regional Development, in particular, sub-program “Promotion of Housing Construction Development Programs of constituent entities of the Russian Federation” of federal target program “Housing” for 2011 – 2015, were discussed at the meeting.
In 2011 2.396 million square meters of housing which is 18.2% more than in 2010, were commissioned in the Republic. In 2009-2011 the amount of housing construction increased by 7.7% while in Russia it decreased by 2.7%. At that in 2011 in Tatarstan the number of houses commissioned per capita was 1.5 times higher than that in Russia (0.631 sq. m. per capita, average in Russia - 0.436 sq. m. per capita). Different kinds of incentives to be used to keep the pace of new construction in Tatarstan were the key issues at the meeting between the President of the Republic and the Minister of Regional Development.
As a result of the comprehensive evaluation of the effectiveness of the executive authorities of the Russian Federation in 2011 the Republic of Tatarstan comes first in the rating of constituent entities of the Russian Federation. There are no inefficient expenditures in the housing sector as well as in state and municipal administration sector.
The situation in the housing sector was a special issue of the discussion.
Minister of Regional Development of Russia Igor Slyunyaev is going to involve heads of constituent entities of the Russian Federation with the highest development level and dynamics in active cooperation aimed at the best regional experience expansion.
“In each federal district leading regions have a special task i.e. to be growth drivers and to set the pace. The potential of such a leader must work for the whole macro-region”, said the Minister of Regional Development of Russia.
