A press conference on the implementation of the garbage reform in Tatarstan was held at the Ministry of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Tatarstan. It was noted at the meeting that a high level of collection of payments for the removal of municipal solid waste remains in the republic. According to the Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ildus Nasyrov, the collection for 11 months is 89%. Including 89.9% of the population, among others - 86.3%. “This is a fairly high collection rate compared to other entities. The total collection for housing and communal services in the republic is just over 98%,” - the deputy minister said.
Annually, about 1.6 million tons of waste are generated in the republic, mainly food waste, plastic and paper. Waste management services for both legal entities and the population are provided by two regional operators (in the Eastern part, "Grinta" company, in the West, "PZHKH" management company). To date, the supply of containers is 26,316 containers in the republic. “Since the beginning of the year, 3,392 containers have been installed in the eastern zone of the republic. First of all, in those places where there was an acute shortage of them, fast filling. Also, in order to maintain the aesthetic appearance of the courtyards, we replaced the obsolete, worn containers with new ones,” - said Svetlana Yarlychenko, general director of the regional operator for the Eastern zone "Grinta". Due to the lack of roads, the removal of municipal solid waste was not organized in 259 settlements of Tatarstan. “There are 104 such stations in the western zone and 155 in the eastern zone.“ Basically, 5-10 people live in these settlements. The registrar does not have access there. Our goal is 100% coverage. We are working with the authorities in order to receive access,” - said Almir Kurbanov, deputy general director of the "PZHKH" management company.
