The 14th International Specialized Exhibition “Energy. Resource Saving” being opened
The 14th International specialized exhibition “Energy. Resource Saving” and the 13th International Symposium “Energy and resource efficiency and energy saving” were opened today in “Kazan Fair” OJSC.
The event was attended by President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Karimov and Chairman of the UNECE Committee on Sustainable Energy Sigurd Heiberg. The exhibition and the symposium were organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Energy Saving Technologies Center under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan. International Exhibition is a traditional meeting place for representatives of the energy sector and related industries, industrial and university scientists. Among the participants there are experts from many regions of Russia and foreign countries. The exposition covers the major aspects of the industry, demonstrates researches and pilot scientific projects, cost-effective technical solutions, and long-term projects of more than 160 leading Russian and foreign companies.
“We started with energy saving, today we talk about energy and resource saving”, said Rustam Minnikhanov at the opening ceremony. According to him, the Republic is rather good at energy and resource saving; the gross regional product is increasing, and energy and resource consumption is not. “I do believe that the exhibition will stimulate the promotion of new technologies and new equipment. This is not only an exhibition but it is also a training ground for us to study all innovations existing in the area of energy and resource saving”, said the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Rustam Minnikhanov and the people accompanying him got acquainted with the exposition including pavilion No. 5 demonstrating the advances in the area of energy and resource saving presented by “Kazanorgsintez” OJSC, “TAIF” OJSC, “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” OJSC and “Tatelectromontazh” OJSC. The representatives of “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” OJSC told the President about the indices of heat and energy capacity and demonstrated the equipment to reduce the losses in the network. Experts from "”Bars Group” reported on their pilot projects.
Representatives of one of the companies dealing with agriculture spoke about the project that could be implemented in the area of resource saving using alternative energy sources. In general, a lot is being done in the agriculture sector of the Republic as a part of the energy saving program to increase energy efficiency for 2010-2015 and up to 2020.
