The first facility to be visited was a new terminal 1A of the international airport “Kazan”. Sergei Stepashin highly appreciated the facility paying attention to the European level of the new airport.
At the medical center of the Athletes’ Village a brief tour for Sergei Stepashin was made by Minister of Health of Tatarstan Airat Farrakhov. He said that the facility constructed for the World University Games had opened its doors to students on September 1st, 2012. The total area of a 4-storey building is 5670 square meters. On the ground floor there is an emergency aid unit, an X-ray diagnostics unit, an infectious diseases room and a room for fibrogastroduodenoscopy. The second floor houses therapeutic and dental units and rooms of specialized doctors. On the third floor there is a clinical diagnostic laboratory, a gynecology unit and a preventive examination unit. The fourth floor houses a day hospital, a physiotherapy unit, a doping control unit and an administration unit.
In accordance with the personnel list 68 doctors, more than 100 employees including middle and junior medical staff as well as experts of the housekeeping unit work in the centre.
Sergei Stepashin visited several doctors' rooms where he appreciated a high level of medical equipment and spoke with the doctors.
In the Agro-industrial Park President Rustam Minnikhanov told Sergei Stepashin about the concept of this large-scale commercial and industrial complex. The facility is located on the area of 8.5 hectares; the total area of the main building is 50 000 square meters including 14.000 square meters for shopping stalls.
According to the President the main task of the Agro-industrial Park is to ensure the access of Tatarstan agricultural products to Kazan market without any intermediaries. Every area was given a quota of retail space; there is a parking lot near the building where the trade will be carried out directly from the trucks.
Besides the trade the processing of agricultural products will be organized in the Agro-industrial Park. This should help the villagers distribute their products.
“It is wonderful that by creating the Agro-industrial Park you solve several problems. You avoid resellers, allocate space for villagers and provide the citizens with products”, said Sergei Stepashin.
The final point of the visit was the football stadium for 45 000 spectators. The Chairman pointed out that the construction of the stadium in Kazan was cheaper if compared to similar ones and even to smaller facilities in other cities of Russia. “Your experience should be shared throughout the country” said Sergei Stepashin.
