Aquatics Palace holds first competitions

Kazan held a city open championship in swimming. 220 best swimmers of the city were identified in the Aquatics Palace.

The championship in Kazan was the first competition to be held in a modern swimming complex built for the World Summer University Games in 2013. In 2015 the World Cup in water sports will be held therein.

Pupils from Children's and Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve "Delta", Children's and Youth Sports School “Kasatka”, “Motor”, “Ak Bure” and representatives of Suvorov school and “Burevestnik”, “Orgsintez” and “Akvarena” swimming pools took part in the competitions.

The participants of the competitions were welcome by Chairman of Physical Culture and Sports Committee of the Executive Committee of Kazan Ilgiz Fakhriyev, President of the Swimming Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan Eric Akchurin, Principal of Volga Region Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism Aidar Salikhov and three-time Olympic participant, silver medalist in the World Cup, world-class athlete Yana Martynova.

 64 sets of medals were played among the participants of the open championship in swimming in Kazan.
