On March 2-3, the parliamentary delegation of Tatarstan, consisting of deputies of the State Council Azat Khamaev, Alexander Tygin, Lutfulla Shafigullin and Nikolai Atlasov, visited Saransk in order to study the experience of organizing the separate waste collection in the Republic of Mordovia. The event was also attended by Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildus Nasyrov. During a trip to the neighboring republic, Tatarstan parliamentarians and representatives of relevant republican ministries met with Acting Head of Mordovia Artem Zdunov and Chairman of the State Assembly of the Republic Vladimir Chibirkin. Welcoming the guests, Vladimir Chibirkin noted the close interaction of the regional parliaments of the two republics on the basis of the Cooperation Agreement between the State Assembly of Mordovia and the State Council of Tatarstan. The deputies of both republics are in constant contact, including the platforms of the Association of Legislators of the Volga Federal District. The parliamentarians exchanged views on measures to strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation on a wide range of issues. During the meeting, its participants expressed interest in continuing to work together, including on the implementation of the initiatives of Mordovia and Tatarstan to improve legislation and law enforcement practice in the field of MSW management. It was noted at the meeting that this year it is planned to equip about 5 thousand additional sites for the collection of MSW in the republic, and the issue of organizing deep processing of waste is being resolved.
