President of Tatarstan visits a number of new Universiade Venues

Today, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited a number of the Universiade Venues, including those completed and being under construction. He was accompanied by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Irek Faizullin, Minister of Youth, Sports and Tourism Rafis Burganov and Head of the Universiade Executive Directorate Vladimir Leonov.

The first facility to be visited was the Universiade next to the Farmers’ Palace. Currently, various thematic areas are being installed therein - the park will houses the tents of partner companies of the Student Games and tents of national crafts, a playground of the World Cup 2018, the area of Almaty which will host the Winter Universiade in 2017,and a tent of Krasnoyarsk claiming to hold the Winter Universiade 2019. The main stage will be installed in front of the Palace, where different performance including those of Cirque du Soleil, will be made.

President of Tatarstan went along the quay of Kazanka River, in Baturin Street, where the builders are completing laying of asphalt. Then, the participants of the round check visited Sibgat Khakim Street under construction, familiarized with the construction of pedestrian crossings at the intersection of Chistopolskaya Street and Prospekt Amirkhana Street.  

Rustam Minnikhanov visited a new food production facility in Tulskaya Street, a place where the food for the Universiade participants is cooked. According to Director General of “Bahetle-1” LLC Muslima Latypova, the facility has already started operating. The entire chain of cooking using modern equipment was presented to the participants of the round check.

The final point of the round check was a new Shooting Complex in town Mirniy. The Complex is one of the best in Russia, and the Universiade participants will soon assure themselves thereof.
