A comfortable environment – be it a park, embankment, square or courtyard – directly affects the quality of life. Therefore, residents of the republic traditionally take an active part in voting, while their involvement in the process is growing every year. So, in 2021 170,677 people voted for this or that public space, in 2022 – already 207,329 Tatarstan citizens. This year, 363 thousand 258 residents of the republic took part in the online voting. This was told by the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Aizatullin at a briefing on the results of the All-Russian online voting on the choice of public and courtyard territories.
The briefing was attended by the head of the Zelenodolsk district Mikhail Afanasyev, Director of the Institute of Urban Development of Tatarstan Nail Zinnatullina, Chairman of the Committee for External Improvement of the Executive Committee of Kazan Igor Salyakhutdinov, curator of the program "Our Yard" of the Institute of Urban Development of Tatarstan Arina Petrova and curator of the program for the development of friendly attitude to pets of the Institute of Urban Development of Tatarstan Daria Raek.
In his speech, Marat Aizatullin recalled that online voting on the choice of public and courtyard territories has been held since 2018, and today is an integral part of the implementation of the federal project "Formation of a comfortable urban environment" and the republican program "Our Yard". "It was Tatarstan that became the "ancestor" of the Federal project for the formation of a comfortable urban environment. Regulations and mechanisms developed in Tatarstan have been included in the federal standards of landscaping," the Minister noted.
In total, in the period from 2015 to 2022, 367 public spaces received a new look in the republic. The total amount of invested funds amounted to almost 19 billion rubles. This year, within the framework of the federal project, 60 facilities are being improved in the amount of 2 billion 281 million rubles.
In addition to the federal project for the formation of a comfortable urban environment, public areas are also being improved within the framework of the All-Russian Competition of Small Towns, which has been held since 2018. Over 5 years, 40 winning projects have received grants from the federal budget totaling 2 billion 700 million rubles. In particular, these are 8 objects in 2023 – 696 million rubles have been allocated for their implementation.
Along with public spaces, residents also chose the adjacent territories, which, in their opinion, need to be improved as a priority. The list of objects included 267 public territories of objects in all 45 municipalities of the republic and 2,145 courtyards.
According to the minister, such a high result was achieved, including through a broad information campaign in the media and social networks. "Physical media were also actively used – ads on invoices, in entrances and elevators of apartment buildings, in settlement centers and management organizations. Our volunteer assistants also played a big role – only in large cities more than 200 volunteers were involved in informing citizens," he stressed.
