Heating season actually started in Tatarstan

As of today, all the activities planned for the preparation for the heating season have been performed. All social facilities are ready to heat supply; the preparation of the housing stock is being completed. This was announced today by Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic Aleksei Frolov at a briefing in the Government House of Tatarstan. According to him, the decision to start-up the heat supply to the social facilities was made at the request of balance holders, although the average temperature in Tatarstan was 13 degrees above zero in the last 5 days. Normally, the heat supply starts at 8 degrees above zero. According to Aleksei Frolov, the beginning of the heating season does not mean the full completion of the repair of heating. “Repair work is carried out all year round. In the case of district heating we close some sections and provide the heat supply by other networks”, he explained. According to him, today the wear and tear of the heat networks in Tatarstan is 43 percent. According to Chairman of the Housing Committee of the Executive Committee of Kazan Iskander Giniyatullin, this figure reaches 54 percent in Kazan. “This figure varies depending on the characteristics of heat pipes and the volume of repair work that we carry out by various means, including the capital investment program. In preparation for the winter we perform ​​individual system activities at the expense of the budget. The wear and tear index is rather big, and the state of public infrastructure is the major and challenging issue today. It is associated with large capital investments required for new technology to be implemented, which allow efficient supply of heat energy and other public utilities. Tariff decisions and investment programs of municipal utilities to address this problem are not enough”, said the Deputy Minister.
