Major repairs to be carried out in 164 schools of Tatarstan in 2014

 “Creation of innovative economy is not possible without the development of proactive education and its further modernization”, said President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov at the traditional annual Message to the State Council of Tatarstan.

Speaking of the education, he said that more than 5 million new pre-school places will be established under the agreement with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. With the support of the federal government almost 30 thousand children will be provided with places in kindergartens. Rustam Minnikhanov drew attention to the fact that quality preschool education is a guarantee of successful development and learning of children in the future.

Rustam Minnikhanov also noted that the modernization of the Republic’ schools is being continued. For example, in 2014, major repairs will be carried out in164 schools. In addition, according to the Head of the Republic, it is planned to develop a network of innovative institutions for gifted children.

“I want to draw attention to the great difference in the quality of the education in our municipalities. With relatively equal conditions, some areas of the Republic are stable leaders in the ranking of the quality of the education, the other do not succeed. Heads of administrations should think seriously about the evolving situation and take necessary measures together with the Ministry of Education and Science”, said the President.
