Today, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan, Marat Aizatullin, took part in celebrations dedicated to the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War in the Vysokogorsky district of the Republic.
Together with the guests of honor of the district, he laid wreaths at the eternal flame on the Walk of Fame.
During the Great Patriotic War, 11,431 people were drafted from the Vysokogorsky district, of whom 7,424 remained on the battlefields.
Marat Aizatullin congratulated residents and guests of the district on behalf of the republic's leadership on Victory Day.
"The will to win, solidarity in the fight against a common enemy, willingness to sacrifice their lives – this is how we will remember the front-line soldiers and home front workers who defended the freedom of the country, freed all mankind from fascist oppression. Over the decades that have passed since the day when the victory salute thundered over Moscow, more than one generation has changed. However, pride for the Motherland and sorrow for the dead will remain with us forever," the minister said in his speech.
