Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, visited the Kazan children's sports and recreation camp "Molodaya Gvardiya" after major repairs. He was accompanied by Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Aizatullin, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and others.

The camp "Molodaya Gvardiya" in the Lebyazhye Forest Park was built in 1932. The last time it was renovated was in 1961. During the work on an area of 9.37 hectares, almost all the old buildings were demolished. 10 dormitories and 2 administrative buildings were built in their place. They have running water and sewerage, equipped with laundries and showers. The sports infrastructure has been completely renovated and the territory has been improved.

Every year during the summer period, at least 950 children rested in the camp for 4 shifts. After the renovation this year, the design capacity of the camp increased to 5 shifts and 1400 children (280 people per shift).

Rustam Minnikhanov inspected the new club building, dormitories, a medical center, a dining room, gazebos, as well as a football field.

At the solemn line-up on the occasion of the opening of the first shift of the camp, Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated the children on the Children's Day. "A wonderful camp, not inferior to Artek in any way. In addition to organizing recreation, special attention is paid to training here. You are all athletes. Be strong, successful and persistent. Perseverance in sports largely determines success," added Rais of Tatarstan.

In the camp, young athletes are trained in four sports: football, basketball, speed skating and athletics. For training, there are basketball and two basketball and volleyball courts with a rubber coating, a mini-football field with artificial turf, two non-standard football fields with an earthen and sand surface.
