The construction of a new building of the Arbitration Court of the Republic of Tatarstan started in Kazan

The construction of a new building of the Arbitration Court of the Republic of Tatarstan was started today. The Foundation stone laying ceremony was attended by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Chairman of the Federal Arbitration Court of the Volga region Yury Glazov, Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of Tatarstan A.S.Akhmetshin, Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin, Chief Federal Inspector of Tatarstan Renat Timerzyanov, Chairman of the Arbitration Court of Tatarstan Nikolai Novikov, Chairman of the Supreme Court of Tatarstan Ilgiz Gilazov.

At present, the judges of the Arbitration Court of Tatarstan are located in 5 places in Kazan, and meetings of the courts are held not in special halls but in the offices of the judges. In connection therewith, there occurred the need in the construction of a new court building.

The area of the 7-storey building located in Novo- Pesochnaya Street will be 15 thousand square meters; it is designed for 85 judges. The construction will be financed from the budget of the Russian Federation under the federal target program; the construction cost will be 1.7 billion rubles. The funding is aimed for 3 years, but, according to Chairman of the Arbitration Court of Tatarstan Nikolai Novikov, the erection of the building is to be completed within the next year in order to relocate the judges into a comfortable environment within the shortest possible time.

“Then came the day when our dream has become closer”, said President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov speaking at the ceremony. “We planned this building in different forms and in different places, and finally, thanks to Nikolai Novikov and thanks to the federal program, the building will be constructed”, he said.  

According to Rustam Minnikhanov, the new building is necessary because the rule of law requires the effective functioning of the courts, and the courts need comfort. Tatarstan President promised to take the construction of the building under the control of the Republic's leadership.

Chairman of the Federal Arbitration Court of the Volga Region Yury Glazov highlighted the importance of providing comfortable working conditions in the courts.  “Tatarstan is developing, the economy is growing, and thus the courts will be in demand”, said Yury Glazov. According to him, the new building of the Arbitration Court of the Republic of Tatarstan might become one of the “business card” of Kazan.

The honored guests pulled the veil off the memorial stone marking the start of the construction of the new building.
