Since 2015, over 400 public spaces have been improved in Tatarstan, every tenth of which is located in the capital of the republic. This was stated by the head of the Directorate of Parks and Squares of Kazan, Aigul Latypova, on the regional day of the II All—Russian municipal forum "Small Motherland - the strength of Russia".
"The program for the development of public spaces in the republic began earlier than the federal project "Creating a comfortable urban environment", which was part of the national project "Housing and Urban Environment" in 2015. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the republican program. During this time, 422 public spaces have been redeveloped or renovated in the republic, and 48 in Kazan," she said.
Today, the Directorate of Parks and Squares of Kazan has 38 public spaces. Each of them has its own park manager.
Since 2019, 31.9 thousand public spaces and more than 41 thousand courtyards have been landscaped in Russia as part of the national project "Housing and Urban Environment". The national project, as Alexey Yeresko, Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation, recalled at the forum in Kazan, was completed in 2024. Its continuation was the national project "Infrastructure for Life", which was launched this year.
