19 March 2025, Wednesday

Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, got acquainted with the construction of the first section of the second line of the Kazan metro at the 100th Anniversary of the TASSR station. He was accompanied by the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Aizatullin and others.

Marat Rakhimov, General Director of Kazmetrostroy JSC, reported on the progress of construction of the first section of the second line. The first section, 5.37 km long, includes four stations: "100th Anniversary of the TASSR" (Julius Fuchik St.), "Akademicheskaya" (intersection of Fuchik and Zavoysky Streets), "Zilant" (intersection of Fuchik and Lomzhinskaya Streets), "Tulpar" (intersection of Pobedy Avenue and St.Sakharova). The work is scheduled to be completed in 2027.

The sinking of the right-hand stage tunnel from the Akademicheskaya station to the 100th anniversary of the TASSR has been completed today. The start of the work of the Leysan tunnel complex was given in March last year.

In parallel, the construction of the metro stations themselves is underway. The stations "100-letiye TASSR" and "Dubravnaya" will become interchange stations. Today, a 400-meter-long connecting line is being built almost manually. At the moment, 126 meters have already been completed, and it is planned to be completed in 2026. Invited miners from Donetsk are also involved in the work.

Marat Rakhimov also showed a scheme for the prospective development of 2 sections of the second metro line in the direction of the Universiade Village and the RCB. Pre-design work is currently underway (tracing, source data collection, exploratory drilling).
