The Central Library of the Mamadyshsky Municipal District and branch library No. 25 of the Central Library System of Kazan were included in the capital renovation plan in 2025.
The work will be carried out under the federal program "Family Values and Cultural Infrastructure", which is part of the national project "Family".
At the moment, auctions for these facilities have taken place and government contracts have been concluded.
The first library in Mamadysh was opened before the revolution, in 1898, at the city council with three branches: Russian, Tatar and children's. In 1979, the district's libraries were united into a single centralized system: the central district library, the central children's library, and 51 rural branch libraries. The collection includes 45,808 books. 3,795 users are registered here.
During the overhaul, it is planned to replace windows, roof, and entrance doors in the two-story building of the central library of Mamadysh. Heating and water supply systems will also be updated, and finishing works will be carried out.
Kazan Library No. 25 was founded in 1932 and was originally located on Volgogradskaya Street. In 1955, she was moved to the dormitory building of the Kazan Pedagogical College on Begimov Street, rented from the Gorbunov factory, where she is currently located. The library has more than 30,000 books in its collection. It is visited by over 2,500 readers annually.
After the renovation, the library with a total area of 259 square meters will have new windows, doors, flooring and electrical equipment. Walls and ceilings will be finished here, and internal engineering systems for water supply, sanitation, ventilation, and air conditioning will be repaired. In addition, as part of creating accessibility for people with limited mobility, builders will equip an adapted entrance group.
Over 34.8 million rubles have been allocated for the overhaul of two cultural institutions, of which 7.3 million rubles are from the republican budget.
