Despite the fact that the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republic of Buryatia is divided by the distance of 4 thousand kilometers and a five-hour time difference, there are no barriers to mutually beneficial cooperation of the regions. This was announced today by President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov at the meeting with the members of the delegation of the Republic of Buryatia and Head of the Republic of Buryatia - Prime Minister of the Republic of Buryatia Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn.
The meeting was held at the residence of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Kazan Kremlin.
Welcoming the guests, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the Republic of Buryatia has a rich history, vast natural resources, and the industrial base. In particular, the helicopters produced in Buryatia, adequately represent the industry and are competitive products in the world market, as he said.
As for the mutual learning and cooperation, according to Rustam Minnikhanov, Buryatia may use Tatarstan experience in the development of information technology, in the implementation of the projects such as “Open Tatarstan”, “Public Control”, “E-Government”, etc. Besides, Tatarstan has considerable experience in the creation and development of innovative and industrial areas, including techno parks, business incubators, etc. Rustam Minnikhanov told about special economic zone “Alabuga” and the conditions created in its territory to attract investors and establish new production facilities. Until the end of the year four new production facilities will be started up therein. As of today, 38 resident companies are registered in SEZ “Alabuga”.
One more special economic zone of technical innovation SEZ “Innopolis” was developed, as said by the President of Tatarstan.
Rustam Minnikhanov reminded the colleagues of Buryatia on large-scale event which had taken place this summer in the capital of Tatarstan, i.e. the 27th World Summer Universiade 2013.
Tatarstan is waiting for new sporting events, said Rustam Minnikhanov. In 2015 Kazan will host the World Aquatics Championships, and in 2018 - FIFA World Cup.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and socio-cultural cooperation was signed between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republic of Buryatia. Document was signed by President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Head of the Republic of Buryatia - Prime Minister of the Republic of Buryatia Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn.
It is to be recalled that in the framework of the visit to Kazan, the delegation of the Republic of Buryatia will visit the industrial park in the area of high technology, i.e. IT park in Kazan, will take part in a business forum and the presentation of the economic potential of the Republic of Buryatia and the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan Federal University, Aquatics palace and a new football stadium “Kazan –Arena”. The guests will also get acquainted with the activities of JSC “Kazan Helicopter Plant”, technopolis “Khimgrad”, Agro-Industrial Park and other enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan.
