Solemn events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War were held in the Vysokogorsky district of Tatarstan today. Traditionally, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Aizatullin participated in them.

On behalf of the leadership of Tatarstan, Marat Aizatullin congratulated war veterans, home front workers and all residents of the region on the holiday.

"The great day that we celebrate today is filled with joy, sorrow and pride. A day that embodies our gratitude to the generation of victors who liberated the world from fascism 80 years ago. A day that will forever remain a symbol of the memory of the unprecedented feat of the Soviet people," said Marat Aizatullin, speaking at the rally.

11,431 people went to the front from the Vysokogorsky district, 7,424 of them did not return from the battlefield.…

"Our common duty is to preserve the sacred memory of the fallen soldiers, not to allow history to be rewritten, not to belittle the role of our country in overthrowing the enemy. Nothing – neither time nor the politics of Western countries – has power over their courage, unity, fortitude and love of the Motherland," stressed the head of the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Together with the guests of honor, Marat Aizatullin laid flowers at the Eternal Flame on the Walk of Fame.
