The anniversary forum "Development of small towns and historical settlements" will be held in Kazan
On August 20-21, 2025, the X All-Russian Forum "Development of Small Towns and Historical Settlements" will be held at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center. More than 100 experts and 1,500 participants from 89 regions of the country will take part in the forum. The event is organized by the Ministry of Construction of Russia in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and with the support of the DOM.RF Development Institute.
This was stated by Alexey Yeresko, Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing of the Russian Federation, at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The main event of the forum will be the announcement and awarding of the winners of the All-Russian competition for the best projects for creating a comfortable urban environment.
According to Alexey Yeresko, this year the forum celebrates its anniversary – ten years of productive work as a key federal platform for discussing the development of small towns and historical settlements between representatives of business, federal and regional authorities, scientific and production companies and the expert community. The forum will traditionally include a ceremony to summarize and award the winners of the All-Russian Competition for the best projects for creating a comfortable urban environment. "It was important to keep this initiative as part of the federal project "Creating a comfortable urban environment" of the national project "Infrastructure for Life". During the competition, 1,609 facilities were selected and 926 winning projects were implemented," said the Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing of the Russian Federation.
Damir Shaidullin, First Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Tatarstan, said that over the past 10 years, about 450 modern territories have been created in Tatarstan — parks, squares, embankments — with a total investment of 28.1 billion rubles. From 2020 to the end of this year, almost 5,850 yards will be landscaped with modern lighting, playgrounds and new flooring under the "Our Yard" program.
According to him, Tatarstan is actively participating in the All-Russian competition for the best projects for a comfortable urban environment: 49 applications from 23 localities became winners and received federal support. 40 projects have already been implemented, the rest will be completed in 2025-2026. In the current anniversary competition, the republic submitted 16 new applications.
"It was the principles and approaches of improvement programs developed in the republic that formed the basis of the federal project "Creating a comfortable Urban Environment", which is currently being used to improve territories throughout the country," he stressed.
