The All-Russian architectural competition for the design of a monument to the outstanding actor Kirill Lavrov will be held in St. Petersburg.
The Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of the City of St. Petersburg is holding an All-Russian architectural competition for a draft design of a monument to Kirill Yuryevich Lavrov, People's Artist of the USSR and head of the Bolshoi Drama Theater, an outstanding actor of our country.
Architects, sculptors, designers, artists, and creative teams from all over Russia are invited to participate.
Applications for participation and draft projects will be accepted until December 12, 2025. The results will be announced in December. The prize fund is 1 million rubles.
The contestants are faced with the task of proposing a draft design of the monument together with the concept of thematic landscaping of the territory of the Oranienbaum Garden in the Petrogradsky district of St. Petersburg. When working on a project, the contestants should refer to archival photographs and videos and pay special attention to the elements of external similarity.
Kirill Yurievich's family members, the theater community, experts and others will take part in choosing the best project.
It is planned to open the monument in 2026 – to mark the 101st anniversary of the actor's birth and the 150th anniversary of the Union of Theatrical Figures.
The monument is planned to be installed at the expense of the budget of St. Petersburg.
