14 billion rubles to be spent on Innopolis and Smart City Kazan construction this year

Around 13 billion rubles will be spent at Innopolis’ venues construction in 2014. According to Tatarstan Construction, Architecture, Housing and Utilities Minister Irek Fayzullin, another billion rubles will be spent on Smart City Kazan.

The minister stated that Innopolis will be able to house the first tenants at the end of the year.

In 2014, 16 houses, a technology park, IT University buildings’ complex and numerous transport and engineering infrastructure elements will be constructed at the new city’s territory in Verkhniy Uslon region. A total of 200,000 square meters of real estate are planned to be built in Innopolis.

“We need to construct a water inlet and up-to-date waste treatment facilities, to supply the city with heat, electricity and storm drain,” the minister stated.

Another large project, Smart City Kazan in Laishevo region, is planned to be equipped with the required transport and engineering infrastructure. Last October, construction agreements with a number of foreign investors were signed. Venues built under those agreements are planned to be put into operation in Q3, 2015.

The minister reminded that the engineering infrastructure at both sites is constructed at the federal and the republic budgets’ expense.
