30 January 2014, Thursday

The 2014 tariffs for the services regulated by Tatarstan State Tariff Committee are economically justified, i.e. have no cross subsidies. At the committee’s meeting dedicated to the 2013’s results and goals for 2014, the authority’s head Marat Zaripov pointed out that the only exception from the aforementioned rule is electricity and gas bills, regulated by the Federal  Tariff Service.

Deputy Minister of construction, architecture and housing of Tatarstan Alexei Frolov took part in the meeting.

Zaripov reminded that the tariffs will be increased only once in 2014 (on 1 July), following Russian Government’s decision.

Gas and electricity cost to public should grow by 4.2 percent and 3.8 percent, respectively, whilst the largest possible depreciation coefficient (0.7) is set up for rural population’s electricity tariffs.

In 2014, every heat energy generating organization received individual tariffs for each energy source. An average rise of cost to Tatarstan citizens does not exceed 5.3 percent, the maximum value established by Russian Federal Tariff Service.

Water and sanitation bills will grow by 3.1 percent in Tatarstan, whilst the federal maximum allows 4.3 percent.

According to Zaripov, the committee aims to slow down the growth of consumer utility fees. This year, the increase should not exceed 4.5 percent.
