Dmitry Volkov: “We need to implement “pilot” projects in order to analyze in practice the nuances at all stages”

This was announced by Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation Dmitry Volkov during a meeting with design institutes in the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan. The leaders of the largest Tatarstan design companies, representatives of expert organizations and specialized universities are invited to the meeting. The main task of the Ministry of Construction of Russia in terms of the development of BIM-technology is the creation of legislative conditions for the unhindered use of information modeling in construction. As Dmitry Volkov noted, currently the department is finalizing a bill on information modeling, in the spring session it will be submitted to the State Duma for consideration.

Vladimir Kudryashev, Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Tatarstan, emphasized that today, with the modern rhythm of realizing facilities, it is imperative to introduce systems that allow managing construction in real time: 20% of the funds for the construction of the object. Therefore, to enter the “digital era” of the construction industry, the Ministry, together with design organizations, contractors and work customers, must ensure the introduction and use of information modeling in design and construction.
