Today, a meeting of the working group on occupational health and safety in the construction sector took place in the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was held by Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan A.S.Akhmetshin. The meeting was attended by experts of construction companies.
After welcoming the participants, Deputy Minister A.S.Akhmetshin told about the measures taken by construction companies to comply with safety regulations. According to A.S.Akhmetshin occupational health and safety is a priority for the sector, and therefore it requires special attention.
The participants considered the plan to provide occupational health and safety for the current year as well as listened to the reports on the issue.
Acting Head of the State Labour Inspectorate in Republic of Tatarstan A.Kh.Zainutdinova reported on the causes of occupational injuries in the construction sector. According to her the main causes of the injuries is the inefficient system of labor protection in enterprises and the lack of skilled employees.
Head of the Department for Health and Safety of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan T.N.Manzhosova reported on the training for managers and employees of companies. As of today, there are 41 training centers in the Republic. The Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan No.912 "On approval of long-term target program on the improvement of working conditions and safety in the Republic of Tatarstan in 2013 – 2015” of 29/10/2012 will provide ongoing training for employees in occupational health and safety (distance learning) and active measures to ensure information support and health and safety promotion. The program includes high-quality training for heads and deputies, senior experts involved in engineering work as well separate training for heads of departments.
