The centre will serve the entire Kirovsky district of Kazan i.e. 18200 children. The centre is to start working tomorrow.
As Minister of Health Airat Farrakhov said the increase in birth rate had caused the problem of shortage of pediatricians. According to the Minister at least 500 doctors are being required. The main problem is the lack of housing.
The President of Tatarstan offered to allocate for young doctors coming to work in the centre, rental apartments for 5 years and then allow them to purchase such apartments according to the social mortgage program; moreover the fee for a rental apartment could be a down payment. “Pediatricians is a very important category”, said Rustam Minnikhanov. “If we allocate 150-200 apartments each year, in three years we will solve the problem of their shortage”, added the President.
