Head of the Federal Road Agency Roman Starovoit: Motorway Mamadyshsky trakt is a good example of joint activities of the federal government and the regional authorities

The official opening ceremony of the reconstructed section of motorway Mamadyshsky trakt (the section from interchange Azinskaya 2 Str. to interchange M-7 “Volga”) was held today.

 The ceremony was attended by President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Federal Road Agency Roman Starovoit, Minister of Transport and Road facilities of the Republic of Tatarstan Lenar Safin, Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Irek Faizullin, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and others.

It is to be recalled that the contractor is “Kazdorstroi” OJSC. The motorway provides the access from Kazan to federal motorway M-7 “Volga” as well as to the cities of Naberezhnye Chelny and Ufa. The length of the motorway is 7.1 km, the width is up to 6 lanes, the pavements width is 2.25 m. There are two underground and two above ground walkways, and three traffic lights.

 The peak traffic flow here is up to 30 thousand cars per day.

 Head of the Federal Road Agency Roman Starovoit said that the road was a good example of joint activities of the federal government and the regional authorities.

President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov noted that motorway Mamadyshsky trakt was highly sought because it connects Kazan with Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk, and, in general, with the northern part of the Republic, and in recent years this area had been complex and dangerous. The President said that the motorway had been reconstructed in preparation for the Summer Universiade 2013. He thanked everyone who was involved in the work on motorway Mamadyshsky trakt.

According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan a number of experts of “Kazdorstroi” OJSC were given titles of Honored Builders of the Republic of Tatarstan. Moreover, the presentation of departmental awards of the Ministry of Transport of Russia (Letter of acknowledgement of the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation) took place.

Deputy Director General of “Kazdorstroi” OJSC Galina Taniya said that road workers would make every effort to continue their work.

Finally loaded trucks “KAMAZ” travelled on the motorway.
