President of Tatarstan visits some facilities in Naberezhnye Chelny

Today President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov made a working visit to Naberezhnye Chelny. He visited a number of social and economic facilities.

The first facility to be visited by the President was swimming pool “Delfin”. Here he met with the members of the national team of the Republic of Tatarstan in synchronized swimming. The athletes performed the program to be shown in the championship of Russian to be held on April 24th-26th, 2013 in Kazan. According to senior team’s coach, honored coach of Russia Ninel Kozhedub the results of the national championship will determine whether Tatarstan girls will participate in the Universiade in Kazan.

Then the President of the Republic of Tatarstan visited Kamsky Children's Medical Centre. The Medical Centre constructed according to the program on modernization of the public health consists of four institutions such as a perinatal center, a maternity hospital, a children's hospital and a polyclinic. According to Minister of Health of Tatarstan Airat Farrakhov the largest maternity hospital in the Republic for 230 beds has been constructed in Naberezhnye Chelny, and it serves both citizens of Naberezhnye Chelny and those of neighboring areas. For this purpose the Center is equipped with special mobile intensive care units.

Rustam Minnikhanov visited the perinatal center and children's hospital. The President of the Republic highly appreciated the level of equipment of the center, especially that of the intensive care unit for babies born before time. “But for such equipment, many children would not be able to survive”, said the President.

Rustam Minnikhanov visited Naberezhnochelninsky Institute of Kazan Federal University. Currently, 12,000 students, 156 graduate students study therein, and 1,829 employees work in the institute. There are 24 disciplines taught, mostly engineering ones.

The President recommended the Institute to reconsider methods of correspondence teaching, to introduce online learning and evening classes for part-time students. According to Rustam Minnikhanov, traditional distance learning cannot ensure the quality of teaching, especially in engineering disciplines.

The President was presented a new building of the resource center of the Institute. The building with a total area of ​​7700 square meters has 16 lecture halls and 14 classrooms for practical and laboratory classes. On the basis of the resource center KFU is going to organize training according to special programs developed together with the automotive industry. “KAMAZ” OJSC offers to create Graduate School of Automobile Engineering which is to train specialists in new industry standards.

 “Here we have to create a powerful Engineering University of the european level”, concluded the President of Tatarstan.

The final point of the visit was a new site of Kamsky Industrial Park “Master”. The first workshop of Kamsky Industrial Park “Master” has been already used by residents; it houses 234 resident companies and 5000 employees. The revenue of the residents in 2012 was 32.3 billion rubles.

Currently the new site is being used by two resident companies. Russian-Italian joint venture “Rototek Kama” produces plastic parts for “KAMAZ” trucks using high technologies, and company BEHR produces radiators. Both companies are just starting their business and gradually increasing their production output.
