Today, Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation Sergei Stepashin arrived in Kazan. Accompanied by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Irek Faizullin he visited a number of the upcoming World Summer Universiade 2013 Venues.
Sergei Stepashin visited stadium “Kazan-Arena” under construction, which will hold the Universiade Opening and Closing Ceremonies. The Head of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation reviewed the progress of works. As of today, all major construction work at the site has been completed; the workers are busy with the interior decoration.
Sergei Stepashin and Rustam Minnikhanov visited a newly opened Aquatics Palace. The Chairman of the Accounts Chamber highly appreciated the new facility and expressed his confidence that the World Cup 2015 and other competitions in water sports would be held in the capital of Tatarstan at the highest possible level.
On the eve of the 68th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Sergei Stepashin visited the Victory Park, where he laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame and the monument to mothers and widows of killed soldiers.
