Governor of Almaty visits Kazan

Today, in the Kazan Kremlin, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with Governor of the city of Almaty, Kazakhstan, Akhmetzhan Yesimov. The meeting was held within the framework of the visit of the delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of Tatarstan A.S.Akhmetshin.

Today, the members of the delegation visited the Athletes’ Village, where they saw the presentation of the Games 2013, and the Tennis Academy.

In Kazan Federal University Akhmetzhan Yesimov met with Kazakh students studying in Kazan. Then, in the IT Park, the guests were given the presentation of the economic and investment potential of Tatarstan. The members of the Kazakh delegation got acquainted with the projects of “Electronic Tatarstan”, “Innopolis” and “Smart City”, and also they saw the capabilities of the system to coordinate the rescue of victims in emergency situations GLONASS 112.

The Governor of Almaty met with State Advisor of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiyev in the Kazan Kremlin. Project “Cultural Heritage of Tatarstan: the ancient city of Bolgar and the island of Svijazhsk” was shown to the guests.

Then Akhmetzhan Yesimov met with Rustam Minnikhanov. Their conversation began in the office of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Kazan Kremlin, and then continued in the meeting room in an expanded format with the participation of the members of the Kazakh delegation and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.

According to Akhmetzhan Yesimov, the main purpose of the visit of the Kazakh delegation to Tatarstan is to monitor the progress of the preparation for the Universiade 2013. Tatarstan experience is very important to Almaty, as the largest city of Kazakhstan is preparing for the Winter Universiade in 2017. “I am grateful to the President of Tatarstan and the colleagues for the full information given to us. We visited the facilities of the Universiade and saw the extensive and thoughtful work, and made a lot of conclusions” said the Governor of Almaty.

According to him, special impression on the members of the Kazakh delegation was made by the IT Park. A park of innovative technologies was also created in Almaty by the Decree of the President of Kazakhstan. “In this regard, the work of Kazan IT Park is very interesting, and we decided to learn the experience of Tatarstan and work accordingly”, said Akhmetzhan Yesimov. Projects “Innopolis”, “Smart City” and SEZ “Alabuga” are also interesting for Kazakhstan, as a similar project is to be implemented in Almaty i.e.  to build a new neighborhood with the population of about 300 thousand people.
