Today, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Oleg Savelyev visited special economic zone “Alabuga”. The guests got acquainted with the progress of the construction of resident companies’ plants. The first to be visited was plant “Alabuga-Volokno” which will produce carbon fiber. Currently the equipment is being installed therein - Rustam Minnikhanov and Oleg Savelyev were demonstrated already installed furnaces to “bake” fiber. The management of the plant appealed to the President of Tatarstan with the request to provide stable power supply. Director General of SEZ “Alabuga” Timur Shagivaleyev said that upon the commissioning of a new substation “Yelabuga 500” at the end of the year the plant will be provided with uninterrupted power supply.
Industrial Park “Synergiya” for suppliers of automotive components is to be completed by the end of the year, and to be started up in the 1st quarter of 2014. Its total area is 24,500 square meters, and potential lessees have already been defined for a quarter of the area. During his visit to the construction site Rustam Minnikhanov instructed to accelerate the construction and work more actively with potential lessees. Also the President of Tatarstan recommended considering increasing power supply for the park, if necessary.
President of the Republic of Tatarstan and Deputy Minister of Economic Development also visited the plants under construction of Turkish companies “Shishejam” – for glass production - and “Kastamonu Integrated Wood Industry” - for the production of MDF panels, parquet and other wood materials. Both of these large enterprises are being built in accordance with the schedule. “Kastamonu Entegre” will be started up in late 2013. Rustam Minnikhanov and Oleg Savelyev thanked the management of Turkish companies for the performance and fulfillment of the obligations under the terms of the construction.
