Program on major repairs of Kazan schools for 2013 performed by one third

One of the oldest schools in the city Tatar-Russian secondary school number 80 with in-depth study of specific subjects, located in Vakhitovsky district of Kazan, is among the leaders of the program on major repairs of educational institutions. 60% of the planned work has been performed herein. The state of the school was inspected today by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.

The Mayor inspected the facade, central entrance lobby, a methodical study, classrooms, a gym, and a platform for the future football field.

According to director of the school Mars Zinnurov the educational institution, one part of which was built in 1935, and the second was added in 1978, has never been repaired, except for the year of 2001 when the first floor of the school was repaired.

Chairman of the Municipal Committee of Housing Iskander Giniyatullin explained that the full range of activities provided by the national program such as the repair of the roof, bathrooms, replacement of windows, entrances, interior doors, and water and sanitation, are being carried out in the school.

As reported to the Mayor, the repair of the roof is made for 78%, toilets - for 35%, the windows replacement – for 81%, the entrance group – for 28%, the interior doors – for 28%, the central heating system – for 10%, the repair of the facade – for 18% and the electrics replacement - for 70%.

35 million rubles from the national budget and about 5 million from the city budget were allocated for the repair. About 500 thousand of sponsorship funds will be further used to repair classrooms. Ilsur Metshin promised that the fence will also be replaced by a new one.

According to the Mayor, the school grounds will also be equipped. There will be a new football field with artificial turf, playground for working out, as well as a platform for playing street ball. This year, Kazan received the funds from the Republican budget to equip several school playgrounds.  “The district is crowded; there are a lot of children here and the school with the oldest tradition. We will allocate you one playground.  Let both learning and after-school be pulsing here”, concluded Ilsur Metshin.

It should be recalled that this year's major repairs are being carried out in 19 schools in Kazan built over 30 years ago. As of today, the Republican program on major repairs of schools 2013 has been implemented for about 36%.

According to the Mayor of Kazan, this year, thanks to the program on major repairs, the learning environment will improve for 12,000 pupils of the city, and in general, during the two years of the program, 63 schools will be repaired.
