The city's largest multi-storied car parking was opened today in Chistopolskaya Street in Kazan. The opening ceremony was attended by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Director General of “Tatneft” Shafagat Takhautdinov, Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of Tatarstan Irek Faizullin and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
A multi-storied car parking for 1205 car spaces was built by company “Tatneft”. It is designed to relieve the area near Sports Palace "Tatneft-Arena" from traffic; therefore it is connected therewith by a covered walkway. It also assumes that visitors of Water Park, hotel and entertainment complex “Riviera” will leave their cars here. The total area of the two parking buildings is more than 19,000 square meters.
President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov called the opening of a new parking to be a great gift to Kazan on the eve of the Universiade 2013. “The problems of traffic congestion are systematically solved in the city; there are new interchanges, parking lots, and now we are opening the largest parking in Kazan”, said the President of Tatarstan.
He thanked “Tatneft” JSC and personally Director General Shafagat Takhautdinov. Rustam Minnikhanov also expressed his gratitude to the designers, builders and the city management.
Director General of “Tatneft” Shafagat Takhautdinov, in his turn, expressed the hope that the opening of a new parking will increase the audience of hockey matches of Kazan “Ak Bars”.
The opening of the parking was symbolized by the first cars entering. After that, the guests visited the new facility from the inside.
