Lenin Dam completely opened in Kazan

Today, the traffic has been on the reconstructed Lenin dam and the bridge over Kazanka River. The opening ceremony was held by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin. The opening ceremony was also attended by Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Almaz Akhmetshin. The bridge over Kazanka River consists of three overpasses; the traffic on the first one was opened in autumn, 2012. Today, cars went along the second main overpass from Millennium Square to Lenin Dam. A few days ago, according to the builders, with the completion of paving of Baturin Street, the side overpass will be opened. At the same time the traffic was started along Millennium Square and across the entire width of the upgraded Lenin Dam. So far, the traffic has been started in operation mode as marking and fencing are to be installed. All work is to be completed before the beginning of the Universiade 2013. The project costs 3.2 billion rubles, but this amount does not include a number of additional works to be done, in particular, the construction of the underpass in Baturin Street. Today, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin turned a symbolic sign and opened the traffic.  Cars and buses started going along the bridge.
