Today's traditional meeting on the housing and utilities was begun by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov by thanking the organizers, the population of the Republic and all those who helped organize and hold the Universiade 2013 in Kazan. According to Rustam Minnikhanov, thanks to the well-coordinated team and its responsible approach to the event, and the support of the population, the Universiade in Kazan was held and everything that had been planned was implemented. The President said that those who had taken an active part in organizing the Universiade 2014 would be awarded.
“There were no indifferent people. All areas and towns actively helped, worried and were happy”, said the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.
“We coped with this task”, said Rustam Minnikhanov. “I'm sure not every entity can cope with such a task i.e. to build and to prepare and adopt, and to implement. This suggests that the potential of our Republic is huge”, he stressed. Also the Head of the Republic said that the positive image that Tatarstan and Kazan had got thanks to the Universiade and the updated capital “is our heritage”.
At the same time Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the bar should be kept high. Another important point is the question on the property complex. “We have to distribute the property so it is beneficial”, he said, adding that the plans are to transfer the property and equipment to the areas.
Everything was not so smooth. “There were inconveniences, and we also have to analyze everything. Of course, the ticket system was our big omission, though the organizers worked very quickly and efficiently”, stated Rustam Minnikhanov and added that the mistakes should be analyzed and the conclusions should be made.
To summarize, the President of Tatarstan said: “Everybody had a very responsible attitude to the event. And the Russian President and the Prime Minister praised us. It is the job of all of us. This is the status of our Republic. We have demonstrated our originality and at the same time the power of the Russian Federation, Tatarstan and how people live here, friendly attitude ... The words of immense gratitude to the population”.
