Builder’s Day celebrated in Kazan

The festive event dedicated to the Builder’s Day was attended by President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The celebration was held in the format of Sabantui in the area of Beryozovaya Roshcha (Provolzhsky district, Kazan). Guests and participants were welcome traditional Sabantui gates constructed in the form of highly lifted buckets of two excavators.

Rustam Minnikhanov and people accompanying him visited the exhibition of a variety of companies, including Kazansky DSK, Koshchakovsky brick factory producing cellular and solid polycarbonate, plant producing polyethylene pipes “Tekhstroi”, “Automotive Glass Alliance Rus” JSC etc.

Then, backhoe loader drivers demonstrated their skills. The machinery was produced by British company JCB. Machinery series 5 participated in the show. Generally, machinery of the British company is actively used by all major construction sites of the Republic of Tatarstan.

After inspecting the creative fields prepared by the all municipal areas of the Republic, the guests went to the area of Sabantui for the construction sector employees. The event started with a themed theatrical prologue dedicated to the profession of a builder. Industry veterans, respected builders of the Republic of Tatarstan and Russia were welcome at the festival. One of the veterans handed a symbol of the profession – a trowel to graduates of technical building schools.

Congratulating the builders on their professional holiday President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov summed up the work of the construction sector of the Republic. He recalled that in the past five years, everybody had worked to hold the World Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan, and the builders had constructed everything for the Games.  The construction sector of the Republic has more than 130 thousand workers, as reminded the President of Tatarstan, and including their family members, there are more than 500 thousand people, and all these people are connected with the construction sector. The contribution of the construction sector in the gross regional product (GRP) is 14%, and it is also your merit, as said Rustam Minnikhanov addressing the builders. He offered to make this large-scale celebration of the Builder’s Day a traditional one to be held in the Republic.  

The President of the Republic of Tatarstan presented a number of state awards to the best industry workers, including  medals “For Valiant Labor”,  honorary titles “Honored Builder of the Republic of Tatarstan”, “Honored Worker of Transport of the Republic of Tatarstan”, “Honored Gas Worker Republic of Tatarstan”, and letters of gratitude of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Letters of gratitude of the president of the republic of Tatarstan for worthy contribution to the development of the construction sector of the Republic of Tatarstan and in the construction of the Venues of the 27th World Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan were presented to the staff of municipal public institution “Administration of Capital Construction and Reconstruction of the Executive Committee of Kazan” and the staff of the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of Tatarstan Irek Faizullin reported that during preparations for the Summer Universiade in Kazan, in spite of the large scope of work, the volume of construction remained the same in all the municipal areas of the Republic; moreover all the planned programs were implemented. We will continue to run like clockwork, said Irek Faizullin on behalf of all the builders of the Republic.

Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin said, that if asked who was the main hero of the year, he would call the athletes who won a record number of medals at the Summer Universiade, and, of course, the builder. It is they who built all the sports and social facilities, road interchanges, airport buildings and the Athletes’’ Village. “This is your great work, and on behalf of all citizens I express you our great gratitude”, said the Mayor.

Ilsur Metshin presented letters of acknowledgment of the Mayor of Kazan and badges of merits “For Distinguished Service” to the employees of the sector.

Acting Deputy Mayor of in Moscow Government for Urban Planning and Construction Marat Khusnullin, who was guest of honor of the holiday, also thanked the builders for their work. “I did great work, I was amazed by the amount and quality of the facilities that were built in Kazan in preparation for the Universiade 2013”, he said. According to Marat Khusnullin, thanks to Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov the construction sector of the Republic has such serious construction volumes.

On behalf of the Government of Moscow, Marat Khusnullin presented awards to the builders of the Republic of Tatarstan, involved in construction projects in Moscow.

The celebration ended with magnificent fireworks.

Tatar singer Salavat Fatkhetdinov and music band “Mirazh” and others performed foe the guests of the festival.
