In May, the work on the arrangement of the Universiade “Cultural Park” of almost 6 hectares and a capacity of 30.000 spectators will start within the area in front of the Palace of Farmers. This was announced by Deputy Director of ANO “Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate” Igor Sivov at the meeting of the city staff in charge of the preparation for the Games.

Kazan held a city open championship in swimming. 220 best swimmers of the city were identified in the Aquatics Palace.

Today the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan held a meeting on the arrangement of public cemeteries in Kazan.

The results of the competition announced among municipalities actively involved in the construction of the football stadium in Kazan being built for the Universiade 2013 will be known by May 15th-20th, 2013.  And by June 1st, 2013 the winners will be provided with the promised sports grounds. This was announced today by Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Irek Faizullin at a republican videoconference meeting chaired by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Prime Minister of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov and held in the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan.

761.5 square meters of housing (31.8 per cent of the annual amount) have been commissioned in Tatarstan.  This was announced today by Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Irek Faizullin at a republican videoconference meeting chaired by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Prime Minister of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov and held in the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Today, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with President of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) Claude Louis Gallien. The meeting was held within the framework of the meeting of Heads of Delegations of the countries participating in the Universiade 2013. The  meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Sports of Russia Natalya Parshikova, Head of the Russian Student Sports Union Oleg Matytsin, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and  Head of Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate Vladimir Leonov.

Athletes’ Village key handover ceremony took place on April 5th, 2013 at the concert hall of the Main International Center. The key was handed over to Mayor of the Athletes’ Village Farid Abdulganiyev. The ceremony was attended by President of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) Claude Louis Gallien, First Vice-President of the International University Sports Federation (FISU), Head of the Russian Student Sports Union Oleg Matytsin, Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan Irek Faizullin, First Deputy Director General of Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate Azat Kadyrov as well as heads of foreign sports delegations. 

On April 4th, 2013 heads of the official sports delegations invited to Kazan to the presentation of the 27th World Summer Universiade, visited a number of the Universiade Venues. They visited the Basket-Hall, the Central Stadium, saw the Athletics Arena and the Rowing Center, and walked through the streets of the Athletes’ Village and looked into one of the houses of the campus. Representatives from France and Canada were the first to share their impressions with the journalists.

Today the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan held a meeting on the training and development of the personnel in the housing sector.
