Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan I.E. Faizullin met with Director General of “Saint Gobain” in Russia and the CIS Gonzaga Arnoux de Pire. The meeting was held in a warm, but at the same time, dynamic environment. After welcoming the participants of the French delegation, Minister I.E. Faizullin spoke about the projects currently implemented in the construction sector. The guests noted that Tatarstan was a key region for business development and that was proved by the presence of “Saint Gobain” as a resident at the site of SEZ “Alabuga”. Together with Turkish company “Turkiye Sisecam Fabrikalari AS” company “Saint Gobain” launched the project to build plant “Automativ Glass Alyance Rus” CJSC with the capacity of 250 thousand tons per year and with the financing of 300 million Euros within the territory of “SEZ Alabuga”. The plant will produce automotive and flat (building) glass.
Today, a meeting on the prospects of the construction market development took place in the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was held by Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the Republic of Tatarstan A.S.Akhmetshin and Head of the Department for Construction Materials Industry and Technologies O.V.Modina. Representatives of the Department for Capital Construction and Reconstruction of Kazan, the Main Department for Investment and Construction as well as representatives of brick factories and manufacturers of heat-insulating materials and experts of the Ministry participated therein.
Issues of increasing trade turnover and mutually beneficial cooperation between the Republic of Lithuania and the Republic of Tatarstan being one of the regions of Russia were discussed at the meeting between President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania in the Russian Federation Renatas Norkus. The meeting was held in the Kazan Kremlin.
Welcoming the guests Rustam Minnikhanov said that at the moment Lithuania and Tatarstan are interesting for each other as trading partners. He noted that the situation in the Republic was stable and that the Republic would close the year with 7% increase in the volume of industrial production and more than 5% increase in gross regional product (GRP). The President mentioned that the Republic was implementing such major projects as “TANEKO” OJSC, the construction of innovative satellite city “Innopolis”" and other projects.
Large-scale modernization of the international airport “Kazan” is being carried out in the framework of the preparation for the Universiade 2013. In general, the Republic is to complete two most significant Venues i.e. a new Football Stadium for 45 000 spectators and Aquatics Palace. “Universiade 2013 will transform the city”, said Rustam Minnikhanov.
